Hello, my name is Sabrina Gaik (she/her). I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) currently completing my Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space for individuals and couples to explore emotions and work towards positive change. I understand how one can become overwhelmed by feelings of isolation and loneliness due to a lack of meaningful connection in their lives. Therefore, my goal is to help you feel more connected with your significant others and aspects of yourself, as I recognize the importance of healthy relationships as a source of resiliency.

I have a special interest in working with clients who struggle with substance use as I understand the painful feelings of brokenness, shame, and loneliness. By exploring relationship dynamics and underlying emotions, I help clients identify and express their unmet emotions and needs while developing alternative coping strategies, including strengthening the emotional bonds and trust with the meaningful people in their lives.

I also have an interest in helping clients dealing with workplace stress and burnout. My extensive background in corporate human resources has given me valuable insight into how workplace demands can interfere with work-life balance and negatively impact the quality of our relationships. I guide individuals through conflict and interpersonal challenges by helping them identify and address their stressors in order to find more balance and emotional fulfillment.

How I can help

My style is warm, inviting, and empathetic. I hold a collaborative and supportive space where you can openly express your deepest feelings and concerns. I acknowledge how vulnerable and uncomfortable it can feel to seek help and face stressful experiences and emotions. My priority is helping you feel heard, understood, and accepted.

I also know the disappointments and uncertainty with dating, as well as the impact of failed relationships on self-esteem. After a significantly negative relationship experience, I felt stuck and was questioning my significance and value in my close relationships. By seeking help and understanding my attachment style, I was able to work towards healing. I hope to guide you towards a greater understanding of yourself and the connections in your life.
